On Wednesday, the Lions announced they have signed free agent TE Cole Herdman to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, they have released LB Anthony Pittman from the practice squad.

Herdman, who is a rookie, played with Lions starting quarterback David Blough last year at Purdue.
