Detroit Lions team president Rod Wood speaks to NFL about blown calls on MNF

The Detroit Lions lost a tough one to the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football on a last-second field goal to move to 2-2-1 on the season.

But the big talk following the game is not about where the Lions are in the standings, it is about the horrific officiating job that took place during the game.

On multiple occasions, the officials either called “phantom” penalties or missed calls, mostly in favor of the Packers. In fact, may have argued that it was the officiating that actually cost the Lions a big win.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Lions team president Rod Wood met with the NFL to discuss the bad calls from MNF.

“Appreciate them acknowledging certain calls were not made correctly. We’re gonna continue to work w/them to make sure officiating isn’t a problem going forward. Hopefully, it’s gonna be improved as the season goes on.” Wood said.

Let’s hope Wood is just being nice here and that in reality, he absolutely let the NFL have it for what happened on Monday Night Football!
