Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker will be a little lighter in the wallet as his team prepares to take on the Minnesota Vikings today at Ford Field.
He was fined $12,500 after his public criticism of the officials following Monday night's controversial game against the Green Bay Packers. He was, however, not fined for his accidental helmet to helmet hit on Green Bay's Geronimo Allison, which he was flagged for unnecessary roughness.
“Awful. It was an awful call,” Walker said after the game. “I feel like I went for the ball and just so happened we collided but I was looking for the ball. It was an awful call by them. It is what it is, though.”
“Detroit vs. everybody,” he said. “I’m saying it. Detroit vs. everybody. It’s awful.”
