The Detroit Lions have made it official: wide receiver Tim Patrick is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars. In return, the Lions will receive a 2026 sixth-round draft pick, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Patrick, 31, signed with Detroit this offseason after spending the bulk of his career with the Denver Broncos. He fought his way back from consecutive season-ending injuries (ACL in 2022, Achilles in 2023) and caught 33 passes for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 2024.
While Patrick was projected as Detroit’s fifth wide receiver heading into camp, he struggled to separate himself during preseason. With the Lions carrying several young receivers, including rookies Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett, the front office chose to flip Patrick for future draft capital.
The move also opens the door for Detroit to potentially bring back Jackson Meeks, who was cut earlier this week, if they decide to keep six wideouts on the 53-man roster.
