Despite getting crushed by the Carolina Panthers a week ago, the Detroit Lions still had hopes of making the playoffs as they hosted the Chicago Bears in the final game at Ford Field for the 2022 season. The Lions took care of business by absolutely destroying the Bears to move to 8-8 on the season. Prior to the game, the Lions had a 24% chance of making the playoffs. Those odds have obviously increased.
What are the odds the Detroit Lions make the playoffs?
Heading into today’s game, the Lions essentially had to win out and have both the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks lose a game.
Not only did the Lions win against the Bears, but the Commanders lost at home to the Cleveland Browns.
So, as it stands, the Lions have jumped the Commanders in standings and their playoff odds have increased to 34%.
Stay tuned as the Seahawks take on the New York Jets at 4:05 p.m. ET and the Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings at 4:25 p.m. ET. If both the Seahawks and Packers lose, the Lions’ playoff chances would jump to 64% and they would control their own destiny heading into Week 18.
