Detroit Lions vs. Miami Dolphins point spread revealed

Published

on

After an impressive win over the Green Bay Packers a week ago, the Detroit Lions were able to enjoy their bye week much more than if they had lost.

That bye week got even better as the Lions  were able to watch the Miami Dolphins defeat the Chicago Bears overtime. With the loss, the Bears dropped to 3-2 on the season, just a game ahead of the Lions who sit at 2-3.

Next Sunday, the Lions will get their shot at the

Dolphins when they travel to Miami.

According to reports, the opening point spread has been released and the Lions are currently a 2-point favorite over the Dolphins. (Note: Most places have yet to set a line because it is not clear if Ryan Tannehill will play for the Dolphins)

Nation, will the Lions go in the road and beat a Miami team that plays very well at home?

Who are the Detroit Lions?

Installing Matt Patricia as the new coach of the Lions was supposed to inject the defense with a dose of instant genius. Detroit’s defense hasn’t been the same since 2014 when the team ranked top three in points allowed. Over the past few years, NFL expert picks have avoided Detroit partially because of their defensive dive. In 2018, the Lions are once again considered longshots at +6600 to win the Super Bowl, according to odds sourced by CanadaSportsBetting.ca.

Coach Patricia’s short tenure has witnessed highs and lows, including impressive wins over Super Bowl favorites and horrendous blowouts against non-playoff teams. The identity of the Detroit Lions in 2018 lies somewhere in between these two extremes.

A Bizarre Debut

The debut of coach Matt Patricia turned into one of the most bizarre spectacles early in the season.

The Lions leaped to a quick lead over the Jets with a pick-six on rookie Sam Darnold’s first pass attempt, but a pair of first-half interceptions would result in a 17-17 tie a few minutes into the second half. Then the wheels fell off the wagon.

Detroit Lions ‘All-Local’ 2019 NFL Mock Draft

Published

on

This coming Thursday, the 2019 NFL Draft will officially begin.

Over the past few months, if you are anything like me, you have read literally hundreds upon hundreds of Detroit Lions’ mock drafts.

So, I figured it would be fun to think outside the box (but inside the state) to come up with what an ‘All-local’ Lions draft could look like.

Check it out.

Round 1 – Devin Bush Jr. (LB) Michigan or Rashan Gary (DL) Michigan

Round 2 – Justin Layne (CB) Michigan State or David Long (CB) Michigan

Round 3 – Sean Bunting (CB) Central Michigan or Chase Winovich (DL) Michigan

Round 4 – Maxx Crosby (Edge) Eastern Michigan

Round 5 – Khari Willis (S) Michigan State

Round 6 – Xavier Crawford (CB) Central Michigan

Round 6 – Karan Higdon (RB) Michigan

Round 7 – Zach Gentry (TE) Michigan

Round 7 – LJ Scott (RB) Michigan State

Now, I know there is a .0000001% chance of this actually happening, but those players should be available when the Lions are on the clock in each round.
