Detroit Lions Week 1 Grades: Offense Impresses, Defense Struggles

On Sunday, Matt Prater redeemed himself from a missed extra point earlier in the game by connecting on a 43-yard field goal to propel the Detroit Lions to a 39-35 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Lions jumped out to a 21-3 lead (just like last year’s Week 1 matchup against San Diego), but allowed Andrew Luck and the Colts to claw their way back into the game and eventually take the lead 35-34. Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense looked unstoppable at times, while the defense left much to be desired.
