Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones Jr. is ‘frustrated’ he is not getting the ball

In 2019, Marvin Jones Jr. had 62 catches for 779 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games for the Detroit Lions and the hope was that he would have similar production in 2020.

Through four games in 2020, Jones Jr., who is in the final year of his contract, has just 14 catches for 146 yards and one touchdown. According to Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, those numbers are not something Jones Jr. is happy about.

From Detroit Free Press:

“I’ll tell you the truth,” offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell told reporters Tuesday during a conference call. “I mean, the guy does get frustrated. I think any time you’re a player of his caliber you feel like if I get the ball, I’m going to help the team. And that’s definitely something that, a mentality I want all our guys to have, that they want the ball. And Marv is no different.”

Bevell added that he is going to continue to try and find ways to get the ball in Jones Jr.'s hands in future games, even if it means getting creative.

“Does he want the ball? Absolutely. Do we want him to have the ball in his hands? Absolutely. And we’re going to continue to look for ways and try to be creative to make sure that the ball goes to him.”

Nation, do you think Jones Jr. is playing his final games with the Lions?
