Okwara, who attended Notre Dame, originally signed with the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent prior to the 2016 season.
From 2016-2018, Okwara played in 22 games (4 starts), recording 10 tackles and a sack.
It was certainly a surprise to many fans that the Lions waived Anthony Zettel.
@Lions How can you cut Anthony Zettel, guy brought more heart than anyone else out there and actually played every play. Just idiotic

While Anthony Zettel may not be a big name, why in the hell are the @Lions dropping starters and signing players off waivers 6 days before the season begins?!
Everyone wanted us to draft defense and what did we do?
A backup safety in the 3rd and DE in the 4th ???????? #OnePride
