Detroit Pistons actively shopping shooting guard Langston Galloway

Detroit Pistons shooting guard Langston Galloway may be on his way out soon. According to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, the Pistons have been actively shopping Langston Galloway for “months”.

One hurdle is Galloway’s contract. He is owed $7.3 million this year before becoming a free agent next off-season.

The Pistons right now have a decision to make for their final roster spot, and that may also influence them to make a deal for Galloway soon. It is believed that the final roster spot is between shooting guard Joe Johnson and center Christian Wood. Joe was expected to win the job outright before the preseason, but Christian Wood has been very impressive with averages of 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

If keeping both Johnson and Wood are in the plans for Detroit, then moving on from Galloway (and his contract) makes a lot of sense. Galloway could also benefit from a fresh start on a new team.

Last season, Langston Galloway averaged 8.4 points per game, while shooting only 38.8% from the floor.
