Detroit Pistons’ lose to the Miami Heat on the road 117-108

The Detroit Pistons (4-8), on the second night of a back-to-back set, lost to the rising Miami Heat (7-3) 117-108 on the road.

It was reported earlier by Keith Langlois of Pistons.com that the Pistons had a delayed flight heading into Miami, and did not arrive in Miami until 6 AM this morning.

The lack of rest showed as the Pistons never really got it going tonight. Miami took a 59-37 lead heading to the half and were in control for a majority of tonight’s game. The Pistons made a run late in the 4th quarter, bringing the Pistons within eight points of the Heat with 1:42 left to play in the game, but it wasn’t enough as the Pistons ran out of gas after going on an impressive run.

Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose were in street clothes for tonight’s game. They both made an appearance in yesterday’s defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves but the Pistons decided to rest both of their stars to preserve their health.

Andre Drummond fouled out of tonight’s game, the third time in as many games Drummond found himself in foul trouble. Drummond finished tonight’s game with 16 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. If the Pistons want to remain competitive, they will need Drummond to cut back on the fouls. Pistons guard Langston Galloway also fouled out of tonight’s game late in the fourth quarter.

Luke Kennard continued his stellar play, scoring 22 points to go along with five assists and four three-point makes. Luke has stepped up his play, and the Pistons have rewarded him with minutes. Luke finished tonight’s game playing 38 minutes. Christian Wood scored 16 points and added a pair of blocks in tonight’s game.

Former Oakland University Standout and current Miami guard Kendrick Nunn finished tonight’s game with 20 points and five assists on 4 of 8 shooting from behind the three-point line. Miami All-Star Jimmy Butler matched Nunn’s 20 points and added 13 assists. Miami center Bam Adebayo finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The Pistons will receive the next two days off but will be back on the road when they face the Charlotte Hornets this Friday at 7 PM.
