Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson may miss start of season

The Detroit Pistons may be without the services of point guard Reggie Jackson for an extended time to begin the season. Jackson, who flourished last year scoring a career high 18.8 points for the Pistons is dealing with some lingering tendinitis in his knee.

Detroit will apparently be searching the market to replace Jackson, who was a key component of a Pistons squad that made the playoffs for the first time since 2008-2009 last year.

Even though the playoffs ended with a sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jackson had high hopes for the Pistons this coming year.

But I think we shored up our second unit and added some more versatility and some more depth. I think we’ll be scary this year.”

Detroit did add free agents Jon Leuer, Ish Smith, and Boban Marjanovic to the roster for 2016. They should certainly add some depth to an already productive bench for the Pistons. However, Jackson missing at least the start of the season with an injury may put some extra pressure on the bench.
