The Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic have released their injury reports for Opening Night on Wednesday at Little Caesars Arena.
According to James L Edwards from the Athletic, the Pistons will start the 2022-23 regular season without three key players on their roster.
The Pistons will be without forwards Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers, and guard Alec Burks against the Magic.
Orlando will also be short-handed without guards Gary Harris and Markelle Fultz, and forwards Mo Wagner and Jonathan Isaac in their lineup.
Which Detroit Pistons are OUT for Opening Night?
These injuries for Detroit are mainly blows to their bench rotation. The injured players on the Detroit Pistons' report are expected to be the main contributors for the second unit.
Marvin Bagley III suffered an ugly knee injury in the third preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He slipped on the floor in the opening minute of the game and was unable to put any pressure on it when leaving the floor. Reports have confirmed the Pistons will be without the 2018 No. 2 overall pick for about 3-4 weeks of the regular season.
Isaiah Livers has been nursing a hip injury since the second preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans. There currently is no reported timeline for when he will suit up and take the floor.
Alec Burks will also be out but Nelens Noel should be active
Detroit also hasn't seen any minutes of Alec Burks since they traded for him in June with the New York Knicks. The veteran shooting guard is recovering from a foot injury that caused him to miss all of the preseason.
Another piece from the trade with the New York Knicks was veteran center, Nerlens Noel. He hasn't practiced with the Detroit Pistons up until this week as he was dealing with plantar fasciitis. Today was his first full practice with the team and he should be active against the Magic tomorrow night.
