Drew Miller looks to rebound from an injury-shortened 2015-16 Season and continue to play a valuable role presence for the Detroit Red Wings.
Miller suffered both a broken jaw and knee injury that required surgery. Playing in just 28 games, the Red Wings clearly missed Miller on the penalty kill last season. He’s become known as a primary defensive forward, and a valuable penalty killer.
Though he doesn’t chip that much in offensively, Miller has played a key role in Detroit’s bottom-six, and they rewarded him with a one-year contract extension this off-season. He’s found chemistry playing alongside Luke Glendening and newcomer Steve Ott on Detroit’s fourth line this preseason, and it appears that line could remain intact for Detroit’s regular season opener October 13.
BIGGEST QUESTION: Will Miller be able to stay healthy this season and continue his role as a penalty-killing defensive forward?
2016-17 Projection: 80 games, six goals, 10 assists, +2 rating
