Detroit Red Wings acquire Jasper Weatherby via trade with San Jose Sharks

Just moments ago, the Detroit Red Wings announced they have acquired center Jasper Weatherby via a trade with the San Jose Sharks. In exchange for Weatherby, the Red Wings have sent center Kyle Criscuolo to the Sharks. During the 2021-22 season, Weatherby recorded 11 points in 50 games with the Sharks.

Weatherby, 24, has spent the entire 2022-23 season with the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda, recording six points (3-3-6) and 39 penalty minutes in 39 games. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound forward split his first professional season between the Sharks and Barracuda in 2021-22, notching 11 points (5-6-11) and 18 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Sharks, in addition to 15 points (5-10-15) and 24 penalty minutes in 25 appearances with the Barracuda.
