Here we go again. For the third time during the 2022-23 season, Detroit Red Wings F Tyler Bertuzzi has suffered an injury. The injury took place during Thursday night’s win over the Vegas Golden Knights, and Bertuzzi was forced to miss the third period with what the Red Wings are calling a “lower-body injury.” Following the conclusion of the game, Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde did not have any further updates on what happened.
What happened to Detroit Red Wings F Tyler Bertuzzi?
What is very interesting about Tyler Bertuzzi’s “lower-body” injury is that nothing really stood out prior to him leaving the game. He did not suffer a big hit or have anything else happen during the first two periods that would lead to an injury. At least nothing that was noticeable while watching him play.
As noted earlier, this is now the third time Bertuzzi has been injured this season as he has already had to miss extended time twice after getting hit in the hand (different hand each time) by a puck.
We expect that Lalonde will give an update on Bertuzzi’s injury the next time he speaks to the media.
So far during the 2022-23 season, Bertuzzi has just one goal and four assists in 15 games with the Red Wings. Considering he was supposed to be one of the leading scorers this season, those stats are not exactly what we were hoping for.
