UPDATE:
The Detroit Red Wings are reporting that Brendan Perlini suffered a deep laceration to his nose and that he is currently receiving stitches from team doctors in Buffalo. His return to the game is questionable.
There may not be a more scary injury in sports than when a hockey player takes a skate to the face.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened on Tuesday as Detroit Red Wings Brendan Perlini took a skate to the face from Henri Jokiharju of the Buffalo Sabres.
Thankfully, Perlini was able to skate off the ice with a towel held against his face.

Our thoughts are with Brendan as he recovers from this nasty looking injury.
