Detroit Red Wings have 23 former players named to NHL’s Top 100 list

If you have ever sat down and studied the history of the NHL, you have probably noticed that the Detroit Red Wings are a huge part of it. The Wings have won 11 Stanley Cups and have had a plethora of top notch players along the way.

In honor of the NHL’s 100th season, the league has released a list of the top 100 players in league history. Not surprisingly, when you look down the list, you cannot help but notice the number of Red Wings who are included. In fact, 23 former Red Wings cracked the NHL Top 100 list.

Here are the players who played for Detroit (from most recent): Pavel Datsyuk, Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Fedorov, Mike Modano, Adam Oates, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Brendan Shanahan, Dominik Hasek, Chris Chelios, Paul Coffey, Borje Salming, Marcel Dionne, Brad Park, Sid Abel, Andy Bathgate, Alex Delvecchio, Gordie Howe, Red Kelly, Ted Lindsay, Frank Mahovlich and Terry Sawchuk.
