The time has finally come. On Tuesday, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony held outside Little Caesars Arena, the soon-to-be new home for both the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings.

Following the cutting of the ribbon, the building was open to those in attendance for the ceremony, including members of the media as well as both the Red Wings and Pistons.

Such opportunity for them provided such opportunity for us fans to soak in all the outstanding details inside and out. We have seen bits and pieces leading up to Tuesday of small additions that provide a ton of detail and life to it. But it was truly a sight to behold seeing it all come to fruition on Tuesday.

Here is a look at just some of the pictures taken from the ceremony on Tuesday.

The Pistons’ verified account dropped this cool time lapse video of LCA being built from the ground up to the finishing touches.

The first official event is next Tuesday, September 12 when Kid Rock holds his first of many scheduled concerts. There has been additional information provided to those looking to tour the facility during their special ‘Preview Week‘ prior to the concert.

It won’t be long before the Red Wings and Pistons christen their new home themselves in October. Then before we know it, we’ll be seeing various college sporting events, including a men’s basketball doubleheader featuring the four Division I programs in the state later in December.

The new venue is also slated to host big-time college events, including the 2019 Frozen Four for men’s college hockey and first-weekend NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament games next spring.
