The Detroit Red Wings are off to a heck of a start when it comes to the win department but unfortunately, they cannot say the same about their team health.

On Monday night, the Red Wings announced Andreas Athanasiou (retroactive to Sept. 20), Frans Nielsen, Trevor Daley and Jonathan Ericsson have all been placed on injured reserve.
In corresponding moves, Ryan Kuffner, Evgeny Svechnikov, Alex Biega, and Oliwer Kaski have been recalled from Grand Rapids.

It's an early-season bummer to see a guy like Athanasiou go on Injured Reserve but it should be fun to see what a few of the youngsters from Grand Rapids can do.
