The Detroit Red Wings have made a quick move to address their goaltending situation, recalling 32-year-old Jack Campbell from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins under emergency conditions.

Campbell, who made five appearances with the Edmonton Oilers last season, holds a 1-4-0 record with an .873 save percentage.

The Red Wings will be without goaltender Cam Talbot for Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to a lower body injury he sustained in practice. With Talbot sidelined, Alex Lyon, who has been recovering from injury, will also be unavailable. As a result, head coach Derek Lalonde has announced that Ville Husso will be back in net for the Red Wings.

Lalonde also noted that the team is hopeful Lyon will be ready for Wednesday’s game against the Flyers, but for now, Husso will take the reins in net.
