Detroit Tigers acquire former first-round pick from Baltimore Orioles

The Detroit Tigers probably will not make any big moves at the 2022 MLB trade deadline but they have acquired a former first-round pick!

The Detroit Tigers are not expected to be big players at the 2022 MLB trade deadline, at least when it comes to acquiring players, but that does not mean they won’t make some minor moves.

According to reports, the Tigers have acquired RHP Cody Sedlock from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash considerations.

Sedlock, who is 27, was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft.

In six Minor League seasons, he is 19-19 with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.448 WHIP.

Sedlock made his MLB debut this season with the Orioles but it did not go well as he gave up five runs on six hits in just three innings of relief duty.

It will be interesting to see if the Tigers are able to turn Sedlock around.
