The first results of the 2026 American League All-Star voting are in, and several Detroit Tigers players have already received strong support from fans despite the club’s difficult season.
Leading the way for Detroit is outfielder Riley Greene, who sits fifth among American League outfielders with 422,835 votes. Greene trails only Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, and Byron Buxton in the early balloting.
The Tigers also have a pair of infielders cracking the top 10 at their positions. Rookie shortstop Kevin McGonigle checks in third among AL shortstops with 266,239 votes, trailing only Bobby Witt Jr. and Andrés Giménez. At second base, Gleyber Torres ranks sixth with 173,068 votes.
Behind the plate, Dillon Dingler narrowly missed moving into third place among catchers. He currently sits fourth with 261,084 votes, just 523 votes behind Baltimore’s Adley Rutschman.
Elsewhere, Zach McKinstry ranks eighth among third basemen with 93,817 votes, Spencer Torkelson is 10th among first basemen with 85,880 votes, and Colt Keith sits ninth among designated hitters with 84,042 votes.
The Tigers also placed another player among the top 20 outfielders, as Javier Báez currently ranks 19th with 115,440 votes.
While Detroit’s record has kept the team near the bottom of the American League standings, Tigers fans have continued to show strong support for several key players. With multiple weeks of voting still remaining, Greene, McGonigle, Dingler, and Torres all remain within striking distance of climbing the leaderboard before the All-Star Game rosters are finalized.
