The Detroit Tigers hired former University of Michigan pitching coach Chris Fetter this morning, and now we have a clearer idea of the coaching staff.

Following the hiring of Fetter, the Tigers announced that Juan Nieves has been promoted to Assistant Pitching Coach. They've also announced that Quality Control Coach and 1st/3rd base coach Ramon Santiago will be returning.
“We felt that adding Juan and bringing back Josh and Ramon to our staff was important for many reasons,” said new manager A.J. Hinch in a press release Friday. “They know these Tigers players better than almost anyone, and I’m excited to have them on board to help us win ballgames. Their experience and commitment to innovation are exactly what we are looking for in coaches for this staff, and we’re looking forward to completing the remainder of the staff soon.”
