The Detroit Tigers have decided to make Jonathan Schoop a part of their future.
They announced just minutes ago on social media that they've agreed to a two-year contract extension with their infielder, keeping him in the Motor City through the 2023 season:

Schoop is in his second year with the Tigers, and it was speculated that he may be dangled as trade bait at this year's MLB Deadline. However, he remained in Detroit, and will continue to suit up for the team beyond this year.
So far in 2021, Schoop is hitting .289 with 18 home runs and 64 RBI.
