Prior to today's game, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said the 3-catcher roster became more challenging to execute once the Tigers traded for Austin Meadows, giving them 2 everyday corner outfielders. The original plan had been to platoon Haase and Baddoo in left. Dustin Garneau became the odd man out.
“He's a good catcher. It wasn't a performance issue,” Hinch said of Garneau.

Tigers will find out today if he clears waivers and stays in the organization.
