Today the Tigers and White Sox will play the doubleheader they were supposed to play yesterday. But since it seems to always rain when we're in Chicago, we only played on last night. Today is a crucial day for the series if by some chance one team wins both it will go a long way in their pursuit of the Twins. The Tigers are going to need good pitching performances from Buck Famer, who is making his season debut, and Michael Fulmer. It will be absolutely imperative that they go at least five innings, in order to save the bullpen.

Most likely we will be without some regulars again for one of these games, giving them a day off for one of the two games this afternoon. Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler both sat last night and it's possible they could be out for one of the games today as well. Which begs the question, are we putting the best team on the field if those two are out of our lineup twice in three games? Let's watch and see how the time off affects each of them.

Then there's this:

Looking Back:

Last night the Tigers faced former Tiger Mike Pelfrey and gave him his second win of the season. It was a tight game when Alex Avila took Pelfrey deep in the top of the sixth, bringing the score to 3-2; but, that was all the Tigers could muster against the underwhelming righty. Matt Boyd continued his month of struggles going 4.2 innings and surrendering three runs. Blaine Hardy and Chad Bell weren't as good last night in mop-up innings as they had been in the last month, surrendering five runs, running the score to 8-2, and a loss for the Tigers.
