1B/OF Brandon Dixon has been designated for assignment. In 2019, Dixon actually led the Tigers with a total of 15 home runs. Overall, he finished the season with a .248 average, to go with those 15 home runs and 52 RBIs. He only walked 21 times in 420 plate appearances, and struck out in 136 of 391 at bats (34.7%).
Though he has officially been designated for assignment, Dixon could still end up staying with the Tigers organization. When a player is designated for assignment, he is immediately removed from the club's 40 man roster. The team has seven days from the time of the designation to then either trade him or place him on irrevocable outright waivers.
