Detroit Tigers designate Rule 5 pitcher for assignment

According to the Detroit Tigers, they have designated RHP Reed Garrett for assignment.

Following today’s game, the Tigers designated RHP Reed Garrett for assignment. Prior to tomorrow’s game, RHP Sandy Baez will be recalled from Triple A Toledo.

Reed, who was a Rule 5 pick, struggled with the Tigers this season, posting a 8.22 ERA in 13 appearances.
