Heading into the 2022 season, Detroit Tigers DH Miguel Cabrera was 13 hits shy of 3,000 for his career.
Following Thursday’s win over the Kansas City Royals, Miggy picked up three more hits and he now needs just six more hits to reach the milestone.
Here is Cabrera talking about being just six hits away from 3,000 for his career.
“I’m just trying to play my best baseball,” Cabrera said. “I know it’s a lot of pressure and there’s a lot of eyes on me. But at the same time, I’m in a good position right now. I just hope we can win more games. That’s more important.
“I feel like if we keep winning games, the numbers are going to be there.”
Cabrera’s next shot to move closer to 3,000 hits will come on Friday night when the Tigers take on the Royals in Kansas City.
