The hope was that Matt Manning would rejoin the Detroit Tigers this coming weekend but we may have to pump the brakes on that one.
According to a report from Jason Beck, Manning was pulled after a 30-pitch second inning during his rehab start in Toledo.
Beck noted that there was no apparent injury but Manning lacked control, giving up two singles and two walks, including the last one on four-straight pitches.
Let's hope this turns out to be much ado about nothing but considering how things have gone for the Tigers this season when it comes to their starting pitchers, it is easy to think the worst.
Trying to knock out this last rehab start has been brutal for Manning.
If all had gone well today, he was slated to be back in Detroit by the weekend.
Now? Who knows https://t.co/pXR0wPhQ8B
