On Saturday night against the Texas Rangers, the Detroit Tigers pulled off a feat they had not accomplished since 2013 by hitting back-to-back-to-back home runs.

It all started in the bottom of the first inning when Alex Avila blasted an A.J. Griffith pitch over the rightfield fence. Up next was Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera, who was making his first plate appearance since missing three days with an oblique strain. Miggy proceeded to deposit a Griffith pitch over the wall in right-centerfield. Finishing the trifecta was the red-hot J.D. Martinez who blasted a home run in a similar place as Cabrera, but even further.

The last time the Tigers pulled off back-to-back-to-back home runs was on June 1, 2013, when Victor Martinez, Jhonny Peralta, and Alex Avila did it against the Baltimore Orioles.
