The night for Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd ended early tonight against the Royals.
Boyd appeared to motion to manager A.J. Hinch and head athletic trainer Doug Teter before departing:
Matthew Boyd is leaving this game with head athletic trainer Doug Teter with one out in third. Tigers had a bullpen game yesterday, and used two position players to pitch Saturday.

Joe Jiminez replaced Boyd. According to the Tigers, Boyd suffered arm discomfort and is being evaluated:
