After snapping their six-game winning streak on Saturday, the Detroit Tigers will look to win another series on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Chicago White Sox in the finale of their four-game series in the Windy City.
On Saturday, rookie Garrett Hill made his second Major League Baseball start for the Tigers and he struggled early on. Hill gave up six runs in the first two innings, and despite shutting down the White Sox for the next three frames, the damage had been done as the Sox cruised to an 8-0 win.
Detroit Tigers make pair of moves prior to finale vs. White Sox
Prior to Sunday’s series finale against the White Sox, the Detroit Tigers announced they have sent Garrett Hill down to Triple-A Toledo.
In a corresponding move, they have recalled RHP Drew Carlton from the Toledo Mud Hens.

Making this move gives the Tigers an extra arm in their bullpen, which could come in handy as they have a doubleheader on Monday against the Kansas City Royals.
With the Detroit Tigers sending a starting pitcher down to Toledo, they will now need to call a starter up for their July 14th matchup against the Cleveland Guardians. There is chatter that starter could be Rony Garcia, who may be ready to come back off the injured list.
