With Ron Gardenhire deciding to retire, Detroit Tigers GM Al Avila has a huge task in front of him as he will be charged with finding a new manager to lead the team into the future.

A couple of names that have been mentioned as potential candidates for the Tigers’ opening are former World Series winners, AJ Hinch and Alex Cora. Hinch and Cora, as has been covered thoroughly, were both involved in the 2017 cheating scandal with the Houston Astros.
Many Tigers fans have already been lobbying for Avila to do what it takes to bring either Hinch or Cora to the Motor City, but those hopes may have just taken a hit.
On Monday, the Chicago White Sox announced they have fired their manager, Rick Renteria, which means they too will now be on the search for a new skipper, along with the Tigers and Boston Red Sox.
The White Sox are a talented group that will only get better in the near future and the Red Sox, though struggling, is a prime destination for any managerial candidate.

Nation, do you think that Al Avila could convince either Hinch or Cora to come to Detroit over Chicago or Boston? Would you want either of those candidates to be the Tigers’ next manager?
