Last night, around 8 P.M. there was a flash of light seen in various parts of Metro Detroit. Many assumed it was thunder, but when the houses and buildings began to shake, something else was afoot. Turns out a meteor actually fell causing the natural phenomenon.
A meteor lit up the sky across SE Michigan last night night. If anything came down at all, it may have very well fallen in Macomb County. County Executive @MarkHackel spoke with @fbtalk about the special event – https://t.co/GtJ73BHA3d pic.twitter.com/zI14bgDaFb

While this might make it seem like the sky is actually falling, it wasn’t. But, it was a strange event with some pretty cool video.

WATCH: Miggy goes BOOM to celebrate his birthday
The home run comes on the heels of a series where Cabrera began to heat up against the Cleveland Indians. In the series, Miguel went 5-9 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. It was a welcomed sight for Tigers fans, as Miggy had gotten off to a non-Miggy-like-start to the season, going 4-30 in the previous series, against the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. The home run tied Miggy with Hall of Famer, Jeff Bagwell, and future Hall member Vlad Guerrero, for 38th all-time with 449 home runs. Next on the list, no. 37, Carl Yastrzemski, with 452.

Dear Detroit Tigers: Don’t make the same mistake the HOF did, retire Lou Whitaker’s No. 1
There’s something to be said for greatness. Whatever the purpose and action of that greatness might be, it should be honored. All through the 80’s and into the 90’s DetroitTiger fans were treated to greatness in the form of Lou Whitaker. Yet, for some unknown reason, the Tigers cannot seem to bring themselves to honor him.
