Detroit Tigers’ minor league affiliate to change team name

According to the Class A Connecticut Tigers, they will not be the “Tigers” for much longer as they are looking to change their team name.

From the Connecticut Tigers:

For the first time since moving to Norwich, the Connecticut Tigers are rebranding with a new team name – and we want fans to help.

The 2019 season marks the 10th season in Connecticut Tigers’ franchise history and the 25th season of Minor League Baseball at Dodd Stadium in beautiful Norwich, Connecticut. The City of Norwich and the Tigers are excited to look to the future and many more years of Minor League Baseball at Dodd Stadium. As such, we are busy exploring a new hometown identity for the team rooted right here in Norwich, and we want your help!

Because of our deep ties to Norwich, we will proudly display the name of the city our fans visit when they catch a game at Dodd Stadium. We want YOU to tell us what you think the new name of the team should be.

Simple and traditional? Or wild and wacky? Tell us what you think.

Fans may submit ideas and explanations starting Thursday, April 11, through Thursday, April 25.

We thank you for your continued support of Minor League Baseball in Norwich. 25 seasons of baseball right here at Dodd Stadium is just the beginning, as we prepare for many more years of memories!

We look forward to your ideas!
