With the No. 3 pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, the Detroit Tigers selected H.S. pitcher, Jackson Jobe.
On Wednesday, Jobe got to face his first live hitters as a professional and things did not go quite as planned for the youngster.
From Detroit Free Press:
“What matters is going out in the game and performing,” Jobe said Wednesday after his 15-pitch session. “I mean, bullpens are great. Live ABs are great. Obviously, today didn’t go how I planned, but we got about a month and a half until games start. That’s when it really matters.”
In fact, while facing 19-year-old SS Manuel Sequera, Jobe gave up the first home run of his entire life.

“We were a little rusty,” said Jobe, who took on Sequera, Cristian Santana and Andre Lipcius. “But that’s part of it.”
“Welcome to pro ball, I guess,” Jobe said.
