Wood was coming into Lakeland trying to make the team on a minor league deal with an invite to camp. And, after an unfortunate crossbow accident coming into spring, he tore his ACL in his first appearance with the club.
Wood had spent time with the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals the last few years, and this year was simply trying to make a Major League club. An unfortunate circumstance for someone who could have helped the Tigers out of the pen this season.
The Tigers now have 57 players on their roster, after having option Dawel Lugo yesterday.
