BONUS CONTENT: ClickOnDetroit suggests multi-player trade with Yankees

The Detroit Tigers may be raising a few eyebrows so far in the shortened 2020 campaign, but one local Detroit outlet has proposed a blockbuster trade that would raise eyebrows up to the ceiling.

In order for the upstart Tigers to compete with the likes of the Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins, ClickOnDetroit is suggesting that the Tigers pull a big-time move with the Bronx Bombers.

The proposal would see the Tigers acquiring Clint Frazier and Miguel Andujar from the Yankees in exchange for a combination of any of the following: Spencer Turnbull, Matthew Boyd, Gregory Soto, Buck Farmer, Jose Cisnero and Joe Jimenez.

The reasoning behind the move being that the Yankees are currently experiencing a logjam of players and could afford to part with younger talent thanks to their already stacked roster, while the Tigers could be looking to surprise people with a playoff run later in the year if their strong start continues, and would accelerate their rebuild.

“Jimenez is off to a nice start after striking out 12.4 batters per nine innings a year ago. Farmer has allowed one walk and no hits in five cleaning innings as the setup man. Cisnero has been excellent in the middle and late innings.

Soto has outshined them all, though, retiring 17 of 20 batters, including eight strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed a run and is missing bats at a 14% clip.
