The Detroit Tigers family is in mourning after public address announcer Jay Allen succumbed to cancer earlier this morning.
The team released the following statement:
Allen’s family revealed this past August that he’d been battling Stage 4 bile duct cancer. The 2019 season was Allen’s first behind the microphone at Comerica Park.
