Well, we missed out on some history tonight.

In only his 5th career start, Detroit Tigers pitcher Casey Mize took a no-hitter into the 6th inning tonight against the Chicago White Sox. He ultimately lost his bid at the record books after Yolmer Sanchez hit a single to right field.
His night ended soon after with 76 pitches, 48 of them being strikes, with the only one hit surrendered. His final stat line:
Mize was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 Draft out of Auburn, and was called up for the first time to the majors last month.
The last Tigers pitcher to throw a no-no? Justin Verlander in 2011 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Don’t worry – Mize will have plenty more opportunities to go for it again!
