Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera sets Venezuelan MLB scoring record

Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera belted his 485th career home run tonight against the Minnesota Twins, and in doing so, he set an MLB scoring record.

With the three-run shot, Cabrera is now has scored the most runs in MLB history of any Venezuelan born player, surpassing Bobby Abreu:

He’s also now just eight home runs away from tying legends Lou Gehrig and Fred McGriff for 28th in MLB history.
