Well, it isn’t exactly breaking news that most fans aren’t going to invest much time watching a baseball team that was well on their way to a 100-loss season.
While Detroit stumbled their way to 114 losses in 2019, television ratings for Fox Sports Detroit fell 14.6 percent in 2019 from the previous season. Overall, the ratings have dropped 76.5% over the past six years.
Nielsen data indicates that Detroit is the 18th largest market among MLB teams and 14th largest overall.
