Detroit Tigers tie Major League record in loss to White Sox

On Sunday, the Detroit Tigers dropped their fourth-straight game by losing 4-1 to the Chicago White Sox. With the loss, the Tigers are now 12-14 which puts them 4.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central.

Not only did the Tigers lose on Sunday, but they tied a Major League record by striking out 20 times in a nine-inning game. According to Baseball Almanac, it is the sixth time in baseball history that a team has struck out 20 times in a game.

Both Brandon Dixon and Gordon Beckham were 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in the game.

The Tigers will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday in Philadelphia when they take on Bryce Harper and the Phillies.
