Series Recap
This best-of-five has lived up to its billing. Detroit took Game 1, 3-2, behind timely hitting and sharp pitching, while Seattle answered in Game 2 with a 3-2 win of its own. Every inning so far has felt like a tug-of-war, with neither side giving much ground.

Pitching Matchup: Flaherty vs. Gilbert
Detroit: RHP Jack Flaherty (8-15, 4.64 ERA, 188 strikeouts)
Flaherty takes the mound for Detroit after a strong showing in his last win against the Guardians, where he allowed just one run and struck out four over 4.2 innings. The Tigers will need his command and poise to contain a disciplined Mariners lineup.
Seattle: RHP Logan Gilbert (6-6, 3.44 ERA, 173 strikeouts)
Gilbert’s consistency and control make him one of the tougher right-handers in the AL, and he’ll look to build on a solid season where he struck out nearly a batter per inning.
Odds:
-Spread: Detroit Tigers +1.5 (-160)/ Seattle Mariners -1.5 (+135)
-Money Line: Detroit Tigers +115/ Seattle Mariners -135
-Over/Under: 7.5

Players To Watch
Riley Greene has been one of the Detroit Tigers’ most consistent offensive forces throughout the 2025 season, finishing with a .258 batting average, 36 home runs (tied for 10th in MLB), and 111 RBI (7th overall). However, his postseason numbers have cooled off; Greene has managed just six hits and one RBI while striking out six times. Fortunately for Detroit, others have stepped up at the plate.
Spencer Torkelson has pulled off four RBI across 18 postseason at-bats, building on a regular season where he hit .240 with 31 homers (tied for 21st in MLB) and 78 RBI.
Kerry Carpenter has provided an added spark, recording three RBI and maintaining an impressive .435 on-base percentage, while Javier Báez continues to grind, matching Greene with six hits and one RBI through 19 innings. Together, the group has helped keep Detroit competitive as the team fights to stay alive in the ALDS.
What’s at Stake:
A win at home would give the Detroit Tigers a 2-1 series lead and put them one victory away from their first ALCS appearance in over a decade. With rain in the forecast and pressure mounting, the Tigers will look to feed off the Comerica crowd and take back control of the series.
