This probably comes as welcome news to the Twins. Over their previous six games, the Twins have only gotten one quality start from their pitchers. That was Jose Berrios in a 2-1 win against the Phillies four days ago.
As a result, the Twins bullpen has put in a lot of work and is likely reaching a breaking point. This rest will give their bullpen a chance to recoup.
The weather report for Minneapolis tomorrow calls for a high of 37 degrees with rain and snow. Certainly not ideal conditions for a baseball game.
The Tigers will have a chance to lick their wounds after a 4-0 loss to Cleveland in their last game, but one can only speculate that they would have loved to get a chance at an overworked Twins bullpen.
