According to a report from Chris McCosky, Detroit Tigers World Series Champion catcher Bill Freehan has died at the age of 79.
As noted by McCosky, Freehan was battling dementia and had been in hospice care since 2018.
Freehan, who played all 15 seasons of his MLB career with the Tigers, was part of the 1968 World Series Championship team.
During his 15 seasons with the Tigers, he batted .262 with 200 home runs and 758 RBIs.
Freehan was an All-Star on 11 occasions.
