There’s nothing like a good old fashioned hockey knockout.
That’s what Calgary Flames forward Steve Begin experienced at the hands of Detroit Red Wings forward Darren McCarty at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary during the 2002-03 season.
Both players were known for their ability to mix things up, but McCarty clearly got the better of Begin in this bout.
Ironically, McCarty would later suit up for the Flames during the 2005-06 season after being bought out by the Red Wings. Of course, he would return for the 2008 Stanley Cup run, getting his name on the famed trophy for a 4th time.
