D.J. Chark’s stint with the Atlanta Falcons was over almost as quickly as it began. Less than a month after signing a one-year deal, the former Detroit Lions wide receiver is back on the open market.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Falcons released Chark following just one preseason appearance. In last Friday’s 23-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the veteran wideout logged three targets, catching one pass for 11 yards.
Since leaving Jacksonville after the 2021 season, Chark has struggled to find long-term stability. Atlanta now becomes the fourth team to move on from him in that span, following stints with the Lions, Panthers, and now the Falcons.
At 28, Chark still brings size, speed, and experience to any team looking for depth at wide receiver. But after another short-lived opportunity, his NFL journey heads back to free agency.
